“Five hundred kisses are all it takes to steal a heart.”
Chris Montgomery doesn’t believe it, and he’d know. He’s met— and had— many a man. None of whom he’d want to share five hundred kisses with. If you don’t like someone, you just don’t like them. End of story.
No amount of kissing will change that.
Dylan Halsworth doesn’t believe it either. But Chris and his arrogant, always right, dare I be wrong attitude has Dylan challenging him to try it. And who knows, maybe watching his most loathed neighbor suffer through five hundred kisses with the same man is worth it. He’d sit back, crack open a Mountain Dew, and have a good laugh . . .
But . . . shit . . . there is one slight snag in his plan.
Chris has chosen Dylan with whom to prove his point . . .

This story was originally written as part of the Goodreads “Love’s Landscapes” anthology, 2014. This second edition has new scenes, scene expansions, scene alterations, a revised ending, reformatting, and--thanks, Natasha!--a new cover.
Big thanks to all those involved in both its original and second edition developments.

I am always hesitant to read a short story because they usually move way to fast with not enough background or seem to be all about the sex. This one, however, was very well written. It had angst and tenderness, bitterness and resolution without a whole lot of extra words and description. Yet the main characters didn't jump into bed in the first sentence (you know what I mean) and spend 3/4's of the time there. Yet there was passion. This read like a full length novel, but without a bunch of words and unneeded descriptions. It flowed along and before you knew it, It was done. I can't even say it should have been longer or shorter. It covered all the bases and was the perfect length for the story it told. If you like books that use a lot of adjectives to describe stuff, this book may not be for you. But if you like straight (no pun intended) forward storytelling, then I definitely recommend this book.Product details

500 Kisses edition by Anyta Sunday Romance eBooks Reviews
A romance that will make you sigh at the sweetness. A small twist in the plot reveals what the description doesn't even hint at. It will make your insides flutter. Definitely a feel good romance with only enough angst to keep you going! Loved it and you will too! But don't trust me download it and see for yourself it will be worth it.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
A very short read that was good to waste an hour but I can't say much else. I did like the writing style so I'll be checking out more books by Anyta Sunday, but the story was pretty simple.
THE ROMANCE
Chris and Dylan used to be best friends until one fateful night that everything fell apart. Now they may still be neighbors across the lake but they can't stand each other. Dylan is focused on saving his kids camp and believes he can't rely on Chris for any help. Chris is the town playboy who's mostly apathetic toward the community. I enjoyed that these two spent so much time kissing before jumping into bed because I feel like this is often a neglecting form of foreplay in romance novels.
WHAT WORKED FOR ME
-- The chemistry was great and I loved all the kissing moments.
-- Watching Chris begin to enjoy spending time with the camp kids was melting my heart!
WHAT DIDN’T WORK FOR ME
-- I will say I don't remember exactly how old these characters were but they felt very young. Their level of responsibility makes me think they are late 20s, early 30s but their actions fell more like very early 20s.
This one was great! Really liked it! Enjoyed getting the back and forth of these two, in their own voice and between one another.
Chris Montgomery and Dylan Halsworth are neighbors, at the moment not very friendly ones. When Dylan needs Chris' help he is reluctant to even ask but he doesn't have any choice. Though they grew up together several mistakes done by both of them tore them apart from best friends to close to enemies. To Dylan's surprise Chris actually accepts though he has his ulterior motives for his initial act.
When a kid on the Summer Camp Dylan organizes talks about a "500 kiss bet" they somehow find each other competing one against the other. What's the bet? The kid said that after kissing someone 500 kisses the deal is done - you'll be together, even if you didn't even like the person before you started the kissing.
Spending time together, not just kissing, but during the Summer Camp with Chris' help makes them rethink their past and naturally their present. Question is, who will back up from the bet and say the truth neither of them was willing to admit all those years.
I loved this one. It was so sweet and endearing, it was fun! I could see both Chris and Dylan's defenses fall apart every step of the way. SUCH a fun read.

A cute story about 16-year-old logic, misunderstandings and do-overs. Dylan and Chris do get their snickerdoodles worked out and love wins. I would have liked to see a little more interaction with the kids. 3.5 for only one spider.
It's a great story with a lot of entertainment packed into a small format. Full disclosure I'm a big fan of Sunday's and have enjoyed everything she's written so far. Her story's are cute and romantic, the kind of story you smile through as you read it. Something to read as a pick me up. Her characters in this story worked well together it's a classic theme of enemies to lovers, childhood friends, and misunderstandings.
Good premise, okay execution. I found it to be a bit shallow and not very easy to get into the mindset of the characters. I will always be a sucker for second-chance romance, so I am able to look past the shallowness and still like it - it just didn't WOW me.
This was a nice, quick sweet read. Chris and Dylan had been best friends into their teens until an incident turned them against each other. Now, Dylan runs a summer camp and he needs Chris' help. During their first camp breakfast a conversation from a camper that 500 kisses can make anyone love you turns into a bet between Chris and Dylan. During the summer, the kisses continue, but can the relationship grow?
I thought this was a nice read if you are looking for something quick without a lot of extras. It was a well written story that I read in one short sitting. I would recommend this if you are looking for a nice, easy sweet romance.
